Woman arrested for misusing boarding pass to meet K-pop idol in Changi Airport

SINGAPORE: A woman was arrested on Jan 22 for misusing her boarding pass to enter the transit area of Changi Airport to meet her idol from K-pop group Enhypen.

The 25-year-old allegedly purchased an air ticket to obtain a boarding pass, although she had no intention of leaving Singapore, the police said in a media release on Thursday (Feb 8).

Enhypen, the seven-member South Korean boy band, held concerts on Jan 20 and 21 at the Singapore Indoor Stadium.

As there will be concerts featuring international performers over the next few months, such as Taylor Swift, Bruno Mars and K-pop group Shinee, the police reminded members of the public that transit areas of Changi Airport are gazetted as protected places.

“Those who make use of boarding passes to enter the transit areas for reasons other than to travel out of Singapore will be detected and arrested,” the police added.
