‘Most horrific of surgeries on panadol’: Australian doctor recalls operating on Gaza


Last month, Sydney surgeon Sanjay Adusumilli spent two weeks in Gaza treating countless Palestinians. He spoke to the Guardian’s Full Story about a young boy with horrific injuries from a bomb blast who passed away after surgery. ‘This young kid is there with his abdomen open … having gone through the most horrific of surgeries on simple panadol,’ Adusumilli says. ‘That child passed away later that night. And I never thought I’d think this, but in my head I was sitting there thinking, I’m actually glad because what kind of life would that child have led’
