Animam signs with Australian squad

(UPDATE) PHILIPPINE women’s basketball team mainstay Jack Danielle Animam will be heading down under for the upcoming season.

Animam has signed with the Ringwood Hawks of the Australian National Basketball League (NBL) 1 after her stint with the Wuhan Shenghan of the Women’s Chinese Basketball Association where she tallied 11 points, 12 rebounds, one assist, and two steals per game.

“We are thrilled to announce that Jack Danielle Animam has signed with the Ringwood Hawks NBL1 South Women’s team for the 2024 season!” the Hawks announced on their Facebook page on Thursday.

Animam played in Australia as part of the national team during the 2023 FIBA Women’s Asia Cup which was held in Sydney. She averaged 10 points, 10 rebounds and one assist per game as the Philippines placed sixth in the tournament.

“I’m excited to play for the Ringwood Hawks and I’m looking forward to a great season,” Animam said.

“We’re incredibly fortunate to be able to bring Jack to Ringwood,” said Hawks head coach Jeremy O’Toole.
